Pelvic Support Problems - Ventura & Santa Paula, CA

Loss of pelvic support, known as pelvic prolapse, is when the muscles that hold the pelvic organs in place are weakened. When this occurs, the organs will shift position. This problem can affect the bladder, urethra, uterus, vagina, small bowel and rectum. Women with pelvic prolapse — also referred to as “pelvic relaxation” — can experience bladder and bowel problems and sensations of heaviness, “falling out” or feeling like they are sitting on something. Pelvic organ prolapse can also cause pain during intercourse, back pain or, in severe cases, tissue bulging through the vaginal opening.

Minimally invasive pelvic reconstruction – Our doctors are highly experienced in the surgical treatment of pelvic relaxation. Reconstructive vaginal surgery can now be done as an outpatient procedure and does not require a large abdominal incision. Usually a week off work is adequate for recovery.

If you have a pelvic-support problem or experience any of the symptoms described above, please talk with Dr. Diesfeld or Dr. Pattamakom. They will work with you to determine the exact nature of your problem and the best options for getting the relief you need.
